QME, AME, and IME evaluations and industrial dental treatment

SANTA ANA, Calif. — Dr. Jerome Peterson has opened a workers’ compensation dental practice at 2220 E. Fruit St., Suite 109–111, Santa Ana, CA 92701, and has published a new practice website at https://www.drjeromepeterson.com/. The site and the Santa Ana office are the current location and public address for referrals, replacing the former Irvine-area office.

After the sale of that prior private dental practice, Dr. Peterson left the former office on February 2, 2026, to practice exclusively in workers’ compensation. The Santa Ana practice exists for attorneys, insurance carriers and adjusters, and injured workers with accepted claims or future medical awards.

What is current and what is not

The current practice is independent of the former Irvine private dental office. Directory listings, search results, and older web pages that still describe an Irvine general-dentistry office, a closed listing, or a different phone number do not describe the practice operating today. The current name in public use is Dr. Jerome Peterson. The current address is Fruit Street in Santa Ana. The current telephone number is (949) 558-3001. Fax is (949) 558-0089. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Evaluations and industrial treatment

From the Santa Ana office, Dr. Peterson provides Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME), Agreed Medical Evaluator (AME), and Independent Medical Evaluator (IME) examinations and expert-witness work in dental and orofacial industrial injuries. He also treats work-related dental injuries and accepts new patients for that treatment, including patients who have been awarded future dental care.

Treatment of an accepted industrial injury covers the dental work required by the injury. This includes evaluation and treatment for TMJ and TMD, muscle myalgia, restoration with fillings and crowns, full-mouth reconstruction with implants and fixed prosthetics, periodontal treatment and maintenance, and oral appliances, including oral sleep apnea appliances. He is a general dentist whose practice has focused on TMJ and orofacial pain and on the care of injured workers for more than four decades. He is not held out as a TMJ specialist or pain specialist.

Dr. Peterson is an active California Qualified Medical Evaluator in dentistry. He was one of two dentists in the state appointed as a subject matter expert in developing the California QME examination for dental and orofacial industrial injuries. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry.
